More than fifty school districts in Massachusetts and New Hampshire work with ASK Group to provide professional development through collaboratives and at the district or school level. Districts engaged in this work include Nauset, Needham, New Bedford, and Northborough/Southborough in Massachusetts and White Mountains in New Hampshire. Additional in-depth work is done with the Massachusetts Elementary School Principals Association (MESPA), the Greater Lawrence Collaborative, and EDCO. Louise Thompson and John Elwell lead our work in New England.
ASK Group has long-term multifaceted relationships with several school districts in the Rochester, New York area. Those districts include West Irondequoit Central School District and Greece Central School District. Work in those districts includes instructional leadership training, mentoring, induction programs for new teachers, on-going professional development for experienced teachers, and building in-house capacity. Certified Local Trainers (CLTs) in West Irondequoit and Greece have taken over the responsibility for teaching the workshop series Instruction for All Students.
In Colorado, Certified Local Trainers (CLTs) lead our Why Didn’t I Learn This in College? workshop series in St. Vrain Valley School District in Longmont. Brenda Kaylor and Julie McVicker lead our work in Colorado. They work extensively with the Mesa County School District staff in Grand Junction on instructional leadership training, creating a culture for learning, mentoring, induction, and professional development for experienced teachers, and with Colorado Springs, Durango, Jeffco, Adams 50, and Falcon.
Virginia divisions working with ASK Group include Fairfax County Public Schools, Prince William County Schools, Spotsylvania Public Schools, and Winchester Public Schools. In Fairfax County Public Schools, Certified Local Trainers (CLTs) lead the six-day workshop series Leading the Learning for administrators committed to increasing their expertise as instructional leaders. The multifaceted work in Prince William County includes professional development opportunities for administrators and teachers as well as support for the revision of the supervision and evaluation process for teachers and administrators. District office administrators and school-based administrators from eighty-five schools have participated in the six-day Leading the Learning workshop series and completed walk-throughs with the workshop leader. Each year four days of professional development based on Why Didn’t I Learn This is College? is provided for approximately 500 novice teachers; this training is led by 30 Certified Local Trainers (CLTs) who participated in nine days of CLT training. Paula Rutherford, Bruce Oliver, and Sarah Hartman are working with these Virginia school divisions.
